Management Occupations drive social media-related hiring activity
Management Occupations, with a share of 18%, emerged as the top social media-related job roles within the consumer industry in Q1 2024, with new job postings rising by 23% quarter-on-quarter. Business and Financial Operations Occupations came in second with a share of 8% in Q1 2024, with new job postings dropping by 16% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent social media roles include Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 4% share in Q1 2024, Arts, Design, Entertainment, Sports, and Media Occupations with a 4% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in consumer industry accounted for 26% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q1 2024 were Saputo, Spectra Food Services & Hospitality, US Foods Holding, Clorox, and Nestle. Together they accounted for a combined share of 26% of all social media-related new jobs in the consumer industry.
Saputo posted 535 social media-related new jobs in Q1 2024, Spectra Food Services & Hospitality 481 jobs, US Foods Holding 387 jobs, Clorox 351 jobs, and Nestle 340 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 41.85% share of total new job postings, Q1 2024
The largest share of social media-related new job postings in the consumer industry in Q1 2024 was in the US with 41.85% followed by France (6.78%) and Canada (5.82%). The share represented by the US was 0 percentage points lower than the 42.32% share it accounted for in Q4 2023.
